"The Eye" is a new opera pitting against each other those age old rivals Good and Evil. Such is the unique manner of the telling,"The Eye" is a captivating tale offering a different slant.as is suggested by the use of Lucifer as the narrator. Ws discover that Hell is so full of souls it is suffering from chronic overcrowding. His authority undermined by militants, Lucifer is given the opportunity by Heaven to demonstrate the qualities necessary for salvation rather than damnation. The hope is that humanity will learn from the lessons and, in future, all souls will go to Heaven. Nothing however is ever straight-forward, and Heaven, with it's fondness for practical jokes, tends to cheat a little. The consequence is that Lucifer fails miserably with all but two of the characters seeking to achieve salvation. The two with whom he succeeds are the Lovers. Representing Adam and Eve. Frustrated and at his wits end due to his constant failure, suffering criticism from everyone including his minions from Hell who threaten to form a picket line on the gates of Hell "No entrance except for affiliated members", the hapless Lucifer decides to resign his office as master of Hell, confess his sins, and seek salvation. Understandably, this is a situation viewed with some concern, not to mention dismay by Heaven. To avoid such a calamitous conclusion, Heaven concedes extra dimensions to cope with the overcrowding in Hell. A new contract is established which stipulates that future space allocation will depend on the ratio of souls per square yard. Lucifer, because of the nature of mankind sees an opportunity for the balance of power to shift in his favour but remember Heaven's fondness for practical jokes and there is one final, ironic twist of the Devil's tail. The Priest Dominic's Solo Act One Buy Now:
